Using PadInspector
Reports & Sharing
A report is the client-facing summary of an inspection. Review and refine it in the portal, then publish and share it as an interactive link or a PDF.
Generating a report
When an inspection is done, generate its report from the iOS app or from the inspection’s detail page in the portal (Generate Report). The AI analyzes every area and finding and drafts the report: a branded cover page, findings grouped by priority with inline code references, and photos. Generation can take up to a minute. The executive summary starts blank so you can write it in your own voice.
Reviewing & editing
Executive summary
The report includes an executive summary section on the first page. It starts blank — click Edit to write your overview of the inspection, then Save. It is your voice on the first page, so make it yours.
Prioritized findings
Findings are grouped into three priority sections — Big Ticket Items, Needs Attention Now, and Needs Attention Eventually — so your client immediately sees what matters most.
- Drag findings to reorder them within a section.
- Move to: each finding row shows buttons for the other two sections (Big Ticket, Attention Now, Attention Later) — one click moves it.
- Hide removes a finding from the prioritized findings summary without deleting it. Hidden findings collapse into an expandable “Hidden” list with a Restore button on each. Note that hidden findings still appear in the report’s area-by-area details.
Regenerating
If you have changed findings since the report was generated, Regenerate rebuilds the report from the current inspection data. It can take up to a minute, and the page reloads when it finishes.
Publishing & sharing
Publish, links & PDF
- 1Open the report and make your edits.
- 2Publish the report. A green banner appears with the report’s two public links — the interactive web report and a direct PDF — each with a copy button.
- 3Send your client either link by email or text: Share Report copies the interactive report link, Share PDF copies the PDF link (no login needed for either).
- PDF — open a print-ready PDF of the report yourself.
- View Full Report — open the rendered, formatted report as your client will see it.
- Unpublish — turn the public links off at any time. Unpublishing permanently retires the old links; publishing again issues fresh ones, so a link you revoked can never come back to life.
What your client sees
Clients open a clean, read-only version of the report — with your branding, executive summary, prioritized findings, photos, and code references — and can print it or save the PDF. They cannot edit anything. Unpublish at any time to disable the links.
Branding & report options
Your logo, brand colors, signature, and report content options (prioritized summary, cover stats, residence photos, weather, and more) are configured once in Settings and applied to every report. See Account & Settings for the full list.
