Privacy Policy

Effective June 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PadInspector ("PadInspector," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the PadInspector services, including our iOS app, our Apple Watch app, and our web portal at padinspector.com (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information: when you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), professional license number, and company details. Authentication is handled with a password you choose.

Inspection content: content you create during inspections, including voice recordings, transcripts, photographs, findings, checklist responses, signatures, and generated reports.

Location information: if you enable it, we use your device location at the time of an inspection to auto-fetch local weather conditions. Location is used for that purpose and is not tracked in the background.

Device and usage information: basic technical information needed to deliver and secure the Service, such as device type, operating system version, app version, and diagnostic or crash data.

Billing information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we retain limited billing metadata such as plan, status, and subscription identifiers.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate and improve the Service: authenticating you, syncing inspections across your devices, generating findings from voice recordings through our AI pipeline, producing reports, processing payments, providing customer support, and keeping the Service secure.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your inspection content for advertising.

Voice and Photo Data

Audio captured during inspections is transmitted to our backend for transcription and finding extraction. Processed transcripts and findings are retained as part of your inspection. Raw audio may be retained to improve transcription accuracy and is deleted on request or when you delete your account.

On Apple Watch and iPhone, the app uses the microphone to record voice notes and (on iPhone) Apple’s on-device speech recognition for a live preview. Photographs you capture are stored as part of the associated inspection.

How We Share Information

Service providers: we share data with vendors that power the Service — including cloud hosting and storage, speech-to-text and AI processing, and payment processing — under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only as needed to provide the Service.

Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PadInspector, our users, or others.

Within your organization: if you belong to a company or team account, inspection content and certain profile details may be visible to other authorized members of that organization according to their role.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your inspection data while your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time. In the iOS app, go to Settings → Delete Account; in the web portal, go to Settings → Profile → Delete Account, or visit padinspector.com/account/delete. You will confirm your password, and we will permanently delete your personal account information.

What happens to inspection content depends on your account: if you are the sole member of a company account, all of your inspection data (photos, audio, and reports) is deleted and any active subscription is cancelled. If you are a member of a multi-person organization, the inspections you created are work product of that organization and are retained by it (reassigned to the account owner) after your personal account is deleted. If you own a company that still has other members, you must first transfer ownership (or remove the other members) so their accounts and data are not affected.

After deletion, residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period and are purged on a rolling schedule.

Your Rights and Choices

You can review and edit your profile, export inspection reports, and delete your account at any time from within the app or web portal.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app controls or contact us at privacy@padinspector.com.

You can manage microphone, camera, location, and notification permissions in your device’s system settings at any time.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address issues if they arise.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the app or web portal before they take effect, and we will update the effective date above.
